Mechanical Pencil – 1938 Pontiac “New Safety Shift” Gear Lever Pencil

Description

This is a mechanical pencil from Pontiac advertises their new “Safety Shift” which was introduced in 1938. It moved the gear shift from the floor to the steering column of the car. It measures about 5” long and is the shape of the shift lever. The pencil reads, “Try Pontiac’s New Safety Shift and you will Shift to Pontiac”. It is in good original condition as shown in the photos.
